There should be a few available on the Google Play store. The one's I've heard folks mention are Live Music Streamer, Vibe Vault, Dead Sets, and Deadhead Archives. The last two are Grateful Dead only. If you find others, please post them here so others can benefit.
I am looking for an app that can play file sound from archive.org on android. Right now I am using soundcloud, but I don't want to download the files from archive.org and then upload them on soundcloud.
I there any easier way to do that?
This upload has not derived mp3's yet. It's been about 48 hours since I finalized the upload.
I'm not sure if there's a way to fix this or if a deletion and re-upload would be better.
Thanks for any guidance,
More mistakes. I'm really sorry. I'm starting to irritate myself.
I see you were making changes about that time as well and maybe your changes reverted mine. I can see where my original change was made but then yours occurred and it went back to the side projects collection.
Rory, as painful as it s to ask you to move these aain, you knew it was coming. Ca we now move them to th new Stratosphere All-Stars collection here: https://archive.org/details/StratosphereAllStars
I just noticed that Surprise Me Mr. Davis has a new collection here. As such, would like to move these:
to this collection
Wrong Artist Collection
TO below Artist Collection

I just try downloading the same show as your link and stuck at 99.1 with a bouncing 1sec -> 2 sec time left? Using Windows 7 Home and latest version of Utorrent. Never had any problems before with this site. Thoughts?
Can I have a specific example of a show you are trying to download? I just downloaded a show via bit torrent without any issue. utorrent v2.2.1, Windows 10.
I have not been on site for awhile. Just wondering if anybody else is having the same problem I am. I am using Utorrent as my downloader. When I down load a show it never completes. It will go to about 98.5-99.1 and the time amount will jump back and forth to 3secs-2secs-then back to three seconds for a long time This happens when I use Vuse also. I do not have any problems when I download from bt.etree. Can someone please advise what I might be doing wrong. Thank for the help
Okay. So the issue is XP. XP does not support some of the new web security. This is not unique to the Live Music Archive. Let me look at what other users have found as workarounds...
From what I can tell, you may find some success using Internet Explorer as your browser if you are on XP. When using IE you'll probably get the "IE has blocked this site due to security certificate errors" message a couple of times. Just keep hitting "Display blocked content" until it allows...
Google Chrome, Win XP. These are the only 2 shows i've had issues with loading. I always wait for it to finish that last step before sharing.
And there's no show identifier cause I haven't been able to upload any part of it without this issue. I do this at a freind's house with cable internet, as my connection sucks!
What operating system and browser are you using?
We can only check something if we know the identifier for the item - let us know and we can check.
I have heard of others in the past having this trouble from time to time, but I seem to have avoided ever having it. When I am completing the identifier information (band abbreviation, date, other information), after completing the last box, I click outside the box in a blank area of the screen and allow the system to check to see if the...
Hi. I have a Glen Phillips 2002-09-17 show, along with a Toad 1997-04-19 show that i've had issues with when uploading.
I get all the files to a show loaded, fill in band name and date, and let it derive a path before I hit "share files". Once I do that it's been telling me to wait until it's done deriving, even though it is.
Can someone look to see if there's any remnents to these shows and delete them so that I can upload? I just tried the Glen show today, got the same result,...
Hello, I had to re-derived the following show and it wiped out a 5 star review that was recently posted. Is this normal?
Is there anyway to restore the review or contact the reviewer?

Can someone move the below shows into the Meat Puppets archive (https://archive.org/details/MeatPuppets)?
The actual code still exists, so we staff can designate specific shows, but so far, it hasn't made it back into the actual web site. You can leave feedback on the new site by clicking on the round exit button in the upper right corner. Perhaps a suggestion will get the feature restored.
The ">" character is an indication of a segue into the next song. The next song starts seemlessly from the current one.
In the specific case you cited, the "^" is a notation that is explained further down in the notes - sometimes a guest or some other special circumstances for the song. From that YMSB set, it says:
^ w^ Danny Barnes & Tim O'Brian
Hope that helps.
I have a question about the LMA and can't seem to the find the answer anywhere...
If I go to a show, like this one for example:
Then I click on "VBR M3U" over on the right under download options, I can then play the show using VLC player, Windows Media Player, etc. on my computer.
I've been using VLC player to stream a show and I'm encountering an issue where it will skip to the next track before the...
I just realized that Gutterball (led by Steve Wynn) had it's own collection. I erroneously uploaded it to Steve Wynn's collection. Can https://archive.org/details/gutterball2015-08-29.km150.flac16 be moved to the Gutterball collection (https://archive.org/details/Gutterball&tab=collection)?
The Live Music Archive only hosts music that is authorized to be uploaded by the artist. An artist must specifically grant permission to the LMA to host these recordings. Bruce Springsteen has not granted permission to the LMA to host such recordings and in fact, is not known to be taper friendly. He isn't particularly taper unfriendly, but it is not officially recognized by the artist.
I can assure you that there are plenty of audience recordings of Bruce around the internet, just not on the...
Thanks for your response. So, I have recently re-listened to Springsteen's Greetngs From Asbury Park and I thought I would look to see if there were any recorded shows on the LMA from that period.
I search on 'Bruce Springsteen' and I get a whole lot of stuff that doesn't appear to be Bruce Springsteen. The first item (upper left hand corner) is something called "Go Kart Mozart" which I just looked up on Wikipedia and appears to be an English band.
Within the exception of...
Can you please give a specific example of what you are searching for and what search terms you are using? I think it might be easier to demonstrate using a real life example.
Certainly, you can find the collection for each band on the Live Music Archive on this page (it is in alpha order).
I know that it's been some years since the redesign, but could someone explain to me how the search and interface works? I search on a band name, and the majority of the screen is full of other bands.
The old interface was easy to use, even if it wasn't pretty. This new interface shore is pretty, but it's useless, it seems.
These are not my recordings nor my postings, but the files in these 2 appear to be exact duplicates of each-other:
Feel free to reach out to Jim Mimna to discuss. He has clearly labeled it as a Banyan show and clearly documented that Willie Waldman didn't even play most of the second set. If Jim asks us to move it, we'll be happy to. But, for now, given how it is documented, we'll leave it where it is.
The tracks that are out of order have an upper case "U" at the beginning of the file name. Change the upper case to a lower case and it should be resolved. You only need to do it on the .WAV file, not the others as those will be recreated by the system. It may take an hour or so after you change the file name to have the player get updated.
Hope that helps.
I recently uploaded two live music shows to the archive, and noticed that a few tracks were appearing out of order on the streaming page, even though the metadata was correct.
Upon closer inspection, I realized that in the original files I uploaded, there were 3 files in which there was accidentally a space in the title. The spaces were automatically removed & updated in the uploading process, but it still is listing these particular tracks out of order (moves them to the...
I presume there has been talk about adding links from LMA metadata to MusicBrainz -- but I haven't found where such discussions happened. I'd be grateful for any links/pointers.
Here's a list of all the links from MusicBrainz Artist entries to Archive.org (most of which are to the LMA): http://reports.mbsandbox.org/report/323/view
(edit: Added link to list of existing links.)

Hello, thank you for fixing that. There is now a problem that I can't see the item in the MaryAdam12 collection, or link to it by searching, etc. Anything I need to do to get it back where it needs to be?
Accidentally identified wrong date for this item: https://archive.org/details/ma121996-10-25.AKGmix.flac16
It should be:
The correct date is 1996-10-05
Please note, ma121996-10-25.AKG391.flac16 is a different recording and is fine.
